Help us beautify your neighborhood - Announcing Beethoven's Big Green!

Local parents, neighbors, and businesses are coming together like never before to improve our distinguished local public school. The playground at Beethoven Elementary School is an unrelenting expanse of asphalt. These neighborhood children crave a natural environment to play and learn.

The Beethoven Big Green project will:
•Remove over 9,000 square-feet of hot asphalt playground for large planting beds.
•Install an irrigation system and spread cooling mulch to retain moisture.
•Add cooling shade by planting over 150 drought resistant and native trees.
•Create gardens by planting vines, flowers and shrubs.

But we can’t do it alone. We have raised 85% of the budget by donations of materials, labor, and money thanks to Los Angeles Conservation Corps, LADWP, Tree People, LAUSD’s Marlene Canter, Eagle Scout candidate Graham MacGillivray, and private & public benefactors. We need your help to get the rest of the way.

Friends of Beethoven is the parent-run fundraising organization that is helping to sponsor this event. We are in need of $18,000 for asphalt removal, purchase of plants, materials and equipment rental. Please donate today.

Click one of the buttons below to make your secure donation via PayPal or Credit Card. You can also mail in a check payable to: Friends of Beethoven 3711 Beethoven Street, Los Angeles, CA 90066.
